Covenant Child (Hymn for Baptism) *LINK*

"Covenant Child" was first published by Great Commission Publications in their Sunday school materials. Recently we learned that it is to be included in the upcoming UK Methodist hymnal. It is also to be included in a UK digital hymnal of "well known hymns and worship songs."

In the past, my links have been to my scores posted on SibeliusMusic.com. In light of the imminent demise of this web site, I am in the process of moving my scores over to the designanted successor of SibeliusMusic, Score Exchange.

Score Exchange uses the same plug-in as SibeliusMusic, which is Scorch. You may see, hear, transpose and print this music by downloading that free program. If you have downloaded Scorch before, but it doesn't work now, you may need a new version. You will probably need to remove the old version and turn off your pop-up blocker. If you want to see this (and my other hymns) in pdf form, please visit my Garden Rose Music website: http://www.gardenrosemusic.com

Lyrics follow:

Words and music by Mary Rose Jensen

Covenant child, water comes as a sign
Of the washing and cleansing renewing your mind.
Covenant child, you are claimed as God's own.
You are one of His people. His church is your home.

Covenant child, you are here by Godís grace,
By the work of our Savior, Who died in your place.
Covenant child, you are living in Christ.
Buried with Him in suffering, with Him you will rise

Covenant child, we are praying for you.
May you stay close to Jesus in all that you do.
Covenant child, grow strong in the faith.
Seek after God's wisdom and walk in His way.
