Text: H. C. Strandskov, 2006
Tune: SLANE (ďBe Thou My VisionĒ)

This hymn text honors Peggi and Dick Brimacomb, long-time members of Lynnhurst Congregational Church, U.C.C., Minneapolis, Minnesota. The hymn was sung during the regular worship service at Lynnhurst on May 21, 2006. Peggi died after a two-year struggle with primary amyloidosis on August 8, 2006. This hymn may be reproduced on song sheets or in bulletins for congregational use. Please let me know when and where it was sung.

Blest are the meek ones, for theirs is the earth:
Sunlight and cold rain and Christís holy birth;
Blest are the hungry for goodness and grace -
They will dine richly in this holy place.

Blest are the people who always forgive:
Their constant mercy shows us how to live.
When their lives darken, Godís soul-healing light
Shows them the pathway that leads through the night.

Blest are the good folk with simple, pure hearts:
They will see Godís face as each new day starts;
They will see Godís face when sunlight is past;
They will see Godís face in heaven at last.

Blest are the sisters and brothers who make
Peace when we fallen ones struggle and break
That great commandment: ďAll life must be love.Ē
Yes, call them children of God and the dove.

Blest are the faithful when evil finds fault;
They are lifeís savor, like earthís precious salt;
They are lamps shining high over this ground,
And in their shining, Godís truth will be found.
