A framed piece of calligraphy that i saw earlier this week contained the following text (with 'An Ancient Prayer' in small script at bottom left amd a calligrapher's signature at bottom right). A Google search doesn't reveal anything and I am quite interested to know the actual provenance of the prayer.

O Thou who art the loveliest melody of our choir,
Thou who hast commanded that the songs of our hearts
should be rendered now by wind instruments, now by string,
grant that while we are singing with this spiritual desire,
we may be admitted among the everlasting choirs
and praise Thee together with Thy saints.
Amen
